Dr. Satu Kuokkanen

Dr. Satu Kuokkanen is board-certified in both Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Obstetrics and Gynecology and also has a PhD degree in human genetics. She joined the Long Island IVF team after completing her sub-specialty training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility in 2008. Additionally, she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she is funded to conduct research on implantation biology and is active in resident and fellow education.

Dr. Kuokkanen completed her sub-specialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, where she received several awards for her academic achievements.  During her training, she received the prestigious American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologist Foundation research scholarship that is awarded only to reproductive endocrinologists who exhibit proven talent and dedication to advance the field.

Clinically, she is well respected for her compassionate care and clinical expertise, which include assisted reproductive technologies (IVF), genetic issues related to reproduction (PGD), minimally-invasive surgery, polycystic ovarian syndrome and menstrual disorders. She is most proud of how her multi-level clinical and research experiences translate into success for her patients.

Dr. Kuokkanen is a Junior Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (SREI), the Endocrine Society and the Society of Gynecological Investigation (SGI).

Dr. Kuokkanen is currently accepting new patients in the Lake Success and Melville offices.
